Similar Features in Existing Music Videos

After completing the planning stage for our music video we found many of the shots could be classed as typical or classic features/ aspects of music videos, so we decided to search for existing videos that include a similar shot or effect to illustrate what we aim to achieve, ableit not necessarily as good or exactly the same.

Rihanna- Disturbia
In a certain shot within the middle of this music video, Rihanna leans over a mannequin with wires around her, linking to the theme of fear or phobias within the song. In our music video Sophie who will play the singer will lay partly over a mannequin singing parts of the song, linking to idea of wanting to shape or create a better boyfriend.

In this video Kylie lays down and creates various positions and movements as well as a routine involving chairs and dancers lying about which is similiar to what we aim to achieve when we have mannequins and dancers in a garage environment.

Avril Lavigne- I'm With You
In this video Avril walks down a street to link to the lonliness and isolation felt by her in the song, we aim to achieve a similar effect in our video however with both versions of the character. The normal version to show her innocence and weakness and the darker and tougher alter ego to show her new strength and transformation.

Beyonce- If I Were A Boy
This video starts with a small section of pre-song material of Beyonce being unhappy with her boyfriend and saying he does not understand what it is like to be her/ a woman. In the middle of the video the song stops for another sequence in which the two appear to switch places linking to the theme and title of the song 'If I Were A Boy'. Our video has a similar theme of an unhappy relationship and will have pre-song material of a couple argueing as a prelude to the song.
